Portrait of Antinous
Excavated in 1869 on the Campo della Magna Mater.
Date: c. 130 AD. H. 0.265. Traces of red on the hair and the diadem.
The diadem, with two busts, indicates that Antinous is depicted as a priest, and in view of the place of discovery the priesthood of Attis has been suggested.
