Tomb 95 (Hadrianic)

On the upper part of two walls, a little below the vault, the twelve labours of Hercules were depicted. Six have been preserved on one of the walls: the capturing of Cerberus, the guardian dog of Hades; the stealing of the apples of the Hesperides; the obtaining of the girdle of Hippolyte, queen of the Amazons; the obtaining of the cows of Geryon; the capturing of the Cretan bull; the stealing of the mares of Diomedes. The scenes, reminiscent of metopes (h. 0.61), are separated by vertical bands with flowers. Geryon is dressed like a Roman soldier.
