Portus, Porticus of Claudius - nrs. 742-744

Description and function Next to the porticus is a staircase with a sloping ramp. In the left jamb of the entrance, on the side of the porticus, are two corner stones, low and high in the wall. The upper one has a hole in both sides. In the right jamb is a vertical groove high up in the wall. Below that are two holes filled with bricks.
There is another stone in the brick pier to the left of the staircase, on the side of the staircase, low but a bit higher than the opposite low one. It has a hole in both sides.
Not investigated in situ.
