Round urn of Aulus Livius Epictetus

Excavated in 1803 by Giuseppe Petrini.
H. 0.29 without the lid, diam. 0.26.

The inscription is flanked by Victories holding a cornucopiae. Below the inscription are two bearded men squatting outwards, their hands tied behind their backs. Apparently they are naked and characterized by the torques as Gauls.
