Statuary group of Mithras killing the bull

Excavated in 1797-1798 by Robert Fagan in the Mitreo "Fagan" near Tor Boacciana.
Date: 190-230 AD. W. 1.42, h. 0.84, d. 0.30.

Below Mithras and the bull is an inscription (the second line was added later and should be understood as being in front of C. Valerius):

SIG(num) INDEPREHENSIVILIS DEI C(aius) VALERIVS HERACLES SACERDOS S(ua) P(ecunia) P(osuit)
L(ucius) SEXTIVS KARVS ET
Lucius Sextius Karus and Caius Valerius Heracles, priest, placed at their own expense the statue of the undiscoverable god.
