Sarcophagus with the four seasons
Collection Campana. Formerly collection F. Trau. Used in 1957 by the Coninx family as part of their funerary monument.
Date: second half of the second century AD. W. 2.165, h. 0.80, d. 0.745. Unfinished.
In the centre stands the deceased, depicted as Venus. The Four Seasons stand on either side of her: to the left Spring and Summer, to the right Autumn and Winter. On the lid Erotes and garlands.
