The north side of the Decumanus, between Shrine II,II,4 and the theatre, was lined by monumental porticos. The Portico of the Sloping Roof, behind which are shops, was built during the reign of Hadrian (opus mixtum). Between the portico and the shops the excavators continued digging to an older level, so that the thresholds of the shops are now at a curious, high level. In the third shop from the east was a bar, with a bar counter in the south-west corner.
