Regio III - Insula I - Caseggiati III,I,12-13

This Trajanic building is situated in the north part of the large courtyard of block I. It consists of two separate wings, containing small rooms. The lay-out is reminiscent of the central units of the Garden Houses, with apartments back-to-back. There are three doors in each of the long outer walls (one is blocked). There is no upper storey. The building most likely consisted of a maximum of six apartments, which could be combined. Commercial activities, for example use as offices, cannot be entirely excluded. Unfortunately virtually nothing has been preserved of the inner walls.

Plan of the building. After SO I.
