At the west end of the Square of Victoria, near the large nymphaeum V,XVII,2 and near the place where the aqueduct reached Ostia, was a large basin covered by vaults. It is today covered with earth. The date is unknown. The aqueduct and water supply of Ostia are discussed as a separate topic.
