Block V,II was excavated in the late 1930's / early 1940's. It was later investigated in detail in the years 1973 - 1976 by a team from the Free University Amsterdam led by Hans Boersma. The block was restored extensively in 1982. In 1985 the publication was printed: 'Amoenissima Civitas'. The book is exemplary because of its detailed description and catalogue of each building.
