Four simple, rectangular buildings were found in the Buchwald, between Staufen and Schafisheim, some eight kilometers to the north of the Hallwilersee. The excavations took place in 1944, led by Reinhold Bosch, with eight interned Italian soldiers. The buildings measured 6.60 x 8.10 m., 6.85 x 8.30 m., 5.25 x 5.10 m., and 19 x 10 m. The largest building had three rooms. The main house was not located.
