In Stabio (to the south of the Lago di Lugano), near the church of San Pietro, remains of a villa were excavated in 1936 and 2003. The complex measured at least 120 x 90 m.

By Chiasso TV, 20 April 2023.In Stabio two inscriptions have been found: an altar with a dedication to Mercurius (EDCS-05100596) and the funerary inscription of a sevir, pontifex and decurio from Mediolanum (Milan, Italy) (EDCS-05100599).
