Harbour structures were excavated on many occasions. In the 1930's for example a small part of the harbour was excavated to the south of the forum. A sloping ramp was then found, and a quay wall was traced over a length of 21 meters. Harbour structures were however found along the entire south side of the settlement, for a distance of approximately one kilometer along the ancient lake shore: jetties resting on stones and wooden posts, quays strengthened by wooden posts, and warehouses. Seasonal variations of up to two meters in water level had to be taken into account.
