Introduction The paintings The graffiti |
On the plaster from "tower" C8 twelve graffiti were preserved. One is a drawing of a bird.
Graffito of a bird. H. 0.05. May Castella et al. 2013, figs. 256, 274.Apart from a few proper names there is the line [e]o utor quod datur, "I use what is given". It seems to be a quote from Cicero: Utar eo quod datur, "I will use what is given to me" (Cicero, Against Verres II,2,152).
Latin graffito. H. 0.01. EDCS-66100039. May Castella et al. 2013, figs. 274. One Greek graffito was found, apparently of an erotic nature.
