On a slope in Meilen-Obermeilen, at the locality Appenhalde, about halfway up the eastern shore of the Zürchersee, the remains of a villa were investigated (and destroyed by building activity) in 1960-1961. The building seems to have been erected in the second half of the first century, enlarged in the course of the second century, and destroyed during the barbaric invasions of 269-270 AD.
