TOMB 11 (continuation)Tek

The scene has realistic as well as symbolic elements.
The two guardian spirits hint at the death and at the same time at the victory over death. Normally we see the wife of a deceased pictured alive. The sleeping woman,
unusual in such a scene, could point to the fact that his wife had already
passed away, before he died.
The offering of the woman on the edge of the couch is uncommon.
Normally this was done by servants.
Absolutely new are the two gods, Mercury and Ceres?, alongside
the couch. Symbols, without doubt connected with the deceased.
Mercury was the god of trade, bringing wealth and good business.
If one pays attention to the attributes of the other figure, one may
conclude that the owner of the grave was a rich grain trader.
