Regio I - Insula VIII - Botteghe I,VIII,10
(Shops)

This is a row of shops to the south of the Warehouse of Epagathus and Epaphroditus (I,VIII,3) and the Small Market (I,VIII,1). It dates back to the early-Hadrianic period. In the back wall of the rooms are remains of the republican Castrum wall. In the rooms are enormous relieving arches below barrel vaults. In the centre is an external staircase. In the penultimate room stands a masonry basin.
