The silver hoard

On various occasions parts of a large bathing complex were excavated, including the Verenabad that was still in use in the first half of the 19th century, but torn down in 1845. The complex measured at least 55 x 37 m. and made use of countless springs in the area. In the first decades of the 21st century, research of the baths (called Sleeping Beauty by one archaeologist) received new impetus. In 2023 the Verenabad had its own website, maintained by the Verein Bagni Popolari.
