In Aargau three inscribed milestones have been found: between Brugg and Baden in Turgi-Unterwil, in the north-west in Mumpf, and in the east in Baden. They belong to the reigns of Trajan (99 AD), Antoninus Pius (138 AD) and Tacitus (275-276 AD). The first stone records 85 miles from Aventicum (Avenches VD), the second a lost distance from Augusta Raurica (Augst BL), and the third 56 leagues from Aventicum.
