In 1864 Ferdinand Keller reported remains of a villa to the north and east of Elgg, a village to the east of Winterthur. Some scattered objects had emerged, a terracotta water conduit, and a black-and-white geometric mosaic, perhaps in a bathing room. Part of the mosaic is today above the door of a house in the village.
