The building Description and function The function of this building is not clear. On the south side, along Via della Foce, is a portico in front of four large rooms (shops?). Date Built in the Hadrianic period.
Nrs. 493-501 Description Cornerstones are found in the south side of the portico, at mid-height in the west jambs, low and high in the east jambs.
The inside of several piers is covered by secondary masonry. If this is not the case, holes can be seen: in mid stone 493 square, partly filled with mortar; in high stone 495 square, filled with metal; in mid stone 496 round; in high stone 498 round.
There are also two holes on the south side: in high stone 495 round, filled with metal; in low stone 500 square.Date The stones belong to the first building phase. Measurements Meas. according to VdM:
493: starts at 1.26; l. 0.29, w. 0.33, h. 0.19; hole on inside: 0.08 x 0.14, d. 0.04;
494: starts at 0.45; l. 0.24, inside covered by secondary masonry, h. 0.20;
495: starts at 1.99; l. 0.29, w. 0.30, h. 0.19; hole on inside: 0.07 x 0.07; hole on south side: diam 0.05;
496: starts at 1.26; l. 0.40, w. 0.35, h. 0.22; hole on inside: diam. 0.05;
497: starts at 0.45; l. 0.38, inside covered by secondary masonry, h. 0.19;
498: starts at 1.99; l. 0.42, w. 0.27, h. 0.16; hole on inside: diam. 0.07;
499: starts at 1.26; l. 0.24, inside covered by secondary masonry, h. 0.20;
500: starts at 0.49; l. 0.25, inside covered by secondary masonry, h. 0.22;
501: no meas., but similar to nr. 499.
