Near Schwaderloch two watchtowers on the river Rhine were found, called Unteres Bürgli and Oberes Bürgli. Excavations took place in 1905-1906, 1913-1914 and 1977. Of the former only a corner has been preserved. The walls were 2.20-2.50 m. thick. A wall created two rooms in the interior. The latter measures 7.50 x 7.50 m., with walls 1.25-1.30 thick. A hearth was found inside. At a distance of 7 meters was a moat. Coins provide a date in the fourth century.
