Extensive remains of a settlement (vicus) have been found in Kempraten, a district of Rapperswil, at the east end of the Zürichsee. Sporadic discoveries were made as early as 1531, but it would not be until 1941 that the settlement was recognized as such. The Roman name may well have been Lindomagus.
