Extensive remains of a settlement (vicus) have been found in Kempraten, a district of Rapperswil, at the east end of the Zürichsee. Sporadic discoveries were made as early as 1531, but it would not be until 1941 that the settlement was recognized as such. The Roman name may well have been Lindomagus.

Plan of Kempraten with archaeological sites. 1: forum (Rapperswil, Rütistrasse 6 - Meienbergstrasse); 2: road to Vitudurum (Oberwinterthur);
3: road to the harbour; 4: road to Curia (Chur); 5: road to Vierwaldstättersee; 6-7: houses with peristyles; 8-11: strip houses; 12: buildings with
one/two rooms; 13: baths; 14: Gallo-Roman temples; 15: mithraeum and road to Turicum (Zürich); 16: burial ground. From the Informationstafel.
