Near Schleitheim three villas were found, at the localities Brüel (to the east), Lendenberg (to the west), and Vorholz (to the north-east). The villa at Brüel was excavated in 1868 by Anton Pletscher, a teacher in Schleitheim. The rooms were grouped around a central hall or courtyard (1), measuring 15 x 10 m. The finds were from the first to third century.
